ECHOS OF MY 71YEARS CELEBRATION BY FRIENDS, FAMILIES AND WONDERFUL COLLEUGES

*BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION FOR A SILENT OPERATOR*

Today we celebrate a man, calm as the morning breeze,Yet powerful as the river that never ceases,Vitalis Ugoh, a name that carries vitality,A gentleman of honour, of grace, of humility.I call him the “Silent Operator”,He does not make noise, but he makes impact,He does not seek the stage, but the stage seeks him,Quiet in nature, mighty in works.
We met at New Nigerian Newspapers, Lagos Plant,Where ink was our blood and truth was our banner,You served as Secretary in the newsroom,Typing stories for reporters in the days of typewriters,Serving the News Editor with loyalty and diligence,A dual role, a double grace, a man of uncommon capacity.
But your flare for writing could not be hidden,Your pen carried fire, your reporting carried truth,So you were moved to the East as a reporter,And later to the Lagos newsroom, where you shone again,Rugged, jovial, accommodating, ever friendly.
You rose to become State Editor in Cross River State,Not by noise, but by merit, by hard work, by character,And even after retirement, your light did not dim,For your colleagues of the Nigerian Union of Journalists,Honoured you with a honorary award,Because a good man cannot be forgotten.
At the social corridors, we found ourselves,We laughed, we shared, we bonded as brothers,You showed me the heart of a true friend,A good family man, a man of peace and love.
Today, Vitalis, I celebrate you!May your days be long as your legacy is great,May your strength be renewed like the eagle’s,May joy flood your home, peace guard your heart,May your children rise to call you blessed,May your new year be greater than all your years before.
Happy Birthday, Vitalis Ugoh! The Silent Operator, the Calm Gentleman, the Vital Man!
You lived well, you served well, you are loved well.
With Brotherly Love and Deep Respect,Ola Jones

Happy Birthday old man. I can see your white hairs. It is a mark of God’s blessings. Many longed for it and got none before joining our maker. God has been faithful to you and good number of us still hanging around and holding unto life. Worry not about abundant wealth. God sees beyond that. If you reflect on when you were scoring for NNN scoopers, Lagos, I used to call you “Wangui”, you know what that means.      Enjoy your New Age. The Good Lord wants you to slow down and enjoy with style, curdling your grand kids and sing “London bridge is falling down, falling down. falling down, London bridge is falling down my fair lady………” Be sure to send me your sweetened Birthday Cake. Cheers, tall man. Pat Umeh πŸ’πŸ’πŸ₯«πŸ₯«πŸ·πŸ·πŸπŸπŸŽπŸŽπŸŽΆπŸŽΆπŸŽΆπŸŽΆπŸŽΆ
