Result Of Suspected Viral Hemorrhagic Fever In Ndebeji – Akamkpa Negative – Health Commissioner

The Hon Commissioner for Health, Dr Henry Ayuk, has revealed that results of suspected cases of viral hemorrhagic fever in Ndebeji community in Akamkpa Local Government Area of Cross River state have returned negative.

According to him, “this is to inform the public that the results of test carried out recently on suspected cases of viral hemorrhagic fever at Ndebeji Akamkpa local government area have come out negativ

He said results from the National  Reference Laboratory Abuja that analysed samples collected from the client have come out negative. 

“Even though the results show there is no outbreak of viral hemorrhagic fever in Akamkpa local government area. Citizens of Akamkpa  are advised to be vigilant”.

“This is because the state is currently responding to Lassa fever outbreak in two local government areas (Obubra and Yala). 

He called on health personnel to be apt in reporting or notifying strange or suspected symptoms of diseases, while citizens should keep away from rodents while observing personal and environmental cleanliness.
