Cross River State Governor, Sen. Prince Bassey Otu has assured of a more conducive working environment and good welfare packages to Corps members serving in the state
.
Otu gave the assurance during the 2025 Batch A stream II swearing in ceremony at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Obubra Cross River State.
Governor Otu who was represented by the honourable Commissioner for y outh Development and Skills Acquisition, Barr Ijom Ukam, charged the corps members to join hands in the affairs of nation building by contributing to the development of their host communities.
He further admonished the corps members to respect the rules and regulations of the camp and embrace skills Acquisition and other lofty programmes of NYSC that would make them job creators rather than job seekers
.
Earlier, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs Oyenuga Joke, appreciated the Governor and his entourage for gracing the occasion and thanked God for granting journey mercies to all corps members deployed to the state .
Mrs Oyenuga informed the Governor, that the Corps deployed to the state are very responsible and have adapted adequately to the regimented camp life. She informed the guests that a total of 1588 corps members have been registered comprising 704 males and 884 females
The Chief judge of Cross River State Hon justice Akon Ikpeme who was represented by the high court judge of Obubra, Hon justice Emmanuel Ubua administered the oath of allegiance on the corps members and wished them a successful service year.
Highlight of the occasion was performance by the Man O’ War special squad that thrilled the audience with fascinating Excises to add glamour to the ceremony.
Corps members on their part, expressed their excitement about the swearing in ceremony and promised to make the best use of the orientation course.
