The theme “Engaging The Power Of Prayer” brings transformation in the lives of believers.
It also connects one with God while expressing gratitude, seeking guidance, and finding comfort, and helps to reduce stress and anxiety.
In the Bible, “Paul and Silas” were a typical example of what prayer can do in a life of believers.
Jesus also said that “prayer is the key to connecting with God in every difficult situation in life”. Jesus Himself started with prayer and ended with prayer.
Satan has made believers weak in prayers by creating artificial situations to make it look as if God doesn’t listen to prayers. This is absolutely the opposite of who God is and will continue to be. He is a faithful God who does not discriminate amongst His creation.
He gave us His Spirit and when we offer prayers to Him genuinely He answers.
That is the reason why the theme of the service “Engaging The Power Of Prayer” was obviously unique penultimate Friday. He came in glory and harkened to their prayers. He healed them, He restored lost hopes, He gave them joy and happiness. There was celebration in their homes.
Luke 18:1 says “Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart”.
God’s own general, Prophet Sunday Obi, came full of life and energy to face the demons who had kept people in captivity for decades.
And he does it in style, first by dancing for His Master round the Altar and with the Music Ministers before the real worship for thirty minutes non-stop.
Usually, it has always been a rewarding experience. During the worship period, you are permitted to pour out your prayers to God in preparation for your testimonies.
“Our God is faithful. He is love. He is Good and is still in the business of doing good always to all manner of people”.
The Intercessory prayer points were delivered by the Son of Prophet Victor Onen as led by the Holy Spirit.
He started by appreciating God via thanksgiving. Prayer connects us with God. He prayed for open doors, prayer breaks barrier and obstacles.
Onen prayed that wherever they have kept us in prison that today as we pray may we be loosed in Jesus Name Amen, that God should condemn them by fire, prayed that doors of captivity be opened, Amen!
And there were life touching testimonies amongst worshippers during the service.
Unique amongst them was the testimony from the Prophet concerning his son. He prayed and God at his appointed time answered him in the pursuit of his medical field. It was a miracle! It can only be God.
ARENA Echo International choir had earlier rendered her Special number, “You are the Covenant keeping God”. It was marvelous in His sight – Alleluia.
In his usual humble manner, God’s own general, Prophet Sunday Obi, presented the guest speaker and a seasoned Minister of God, Apostle Ubong Thompson to deliver the Word.
He gave thanks to God saying “prayer is important in our life because Jesus started with prayer and ended with prayer”
James 5:16-17
“Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
“Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months.”
The Holy Spirit empowers our prayers. It is a tool to change our life narrative. Also, it is a platform to change our situation.
However, Apostle Ubong Thompson says, such prayer must be in line with God’s word. When it is in line with God’s word, it becomes powerful. Jesus prayed and engaged the power all through His Ministry on earth. The Apostles did the same and we ought to do the same today.
Ubong described prayer as a personal and intimate communication with a higher power – Divine Entity. Read the following Bible verses Lk.18:1/1 Thes. 5:17/Phil.4:6.
Types of prayers include: Intercessory prayer – Lk 22:37, Thanksgiving -1 Tim.2:1, Warfare – Eph. 6:12, Supplication and Petition and Prophetic prayers – Matt.8:8.
He said that the power of prayer is used to make decrees – Job 22:27-28, the prayer of faith carries power. It is used to save the sick person and reverse satanic agenda in our lives.
According to him, “prayers are empowered by the Holy Spirit – Roms. 8:26, every work of God is backed up with prayer, prayer is used to correct the undoing of the devil – Isa 62:1-6, it is used to remove mountains – Mk 11:23, it is used to pull down, uproot and destroy satanic/demonic plans -Jer. 1:10.
He admonished worshippers to use the language of the word of God while praying. Note Prophetic prayers are so powerful when released.
Elijah engaged in prayer – Jas. 5:16, Paul and Silas – Acts: 16:25-26, the church prayed for Peter – Acts 12:5 and Jesus prayed for Peter – Lk.22:32 respectively.
Earlier, the Prophet had applauded the guest speaker for doing justice on the theme.
He merely read out some Bible verses to support his teachings – Matt.21:22/7:7, Mk.11:24/John.14:13/G.32:9/28:20-21/Isa. 65:24/Jh.17:13.
He however released some prophetic declarations on to the congregation as they claimed and received them with faith.
The ministration was a huge success in the site of God. He honoured the prayers of His own and there were testimonies, restoring of life, hope, joy and above all celebration.
The corporate prayers were offered by the Son of the Prophet Victor Onen according to the theme.
He appreciated God for giving us the opportunity to be alive today in the first instance. He prayed that the same way Paul and Silas prayed and were saved, let it be our portion – Amen, bring down those who wish us evil, release us from every form of captivity by our captors in Jesus Name Amen, every evil alter speaking against my family, children be crushed in Jesus Name Amen, cancel every manipulation in our lives, condemn every enchantment against my family and scatter every ancestral covenant speaking against my family and children.
The highlight of the service was the formal introduction of the would-be couple after a successful marriage counseling exercise, Min. Breakthrough Bessong Lambe and Rev. Kingdom Obi Enu to the church.
Also, the Prophet disclosed that on or before December, there are over six pending weddings within and outside God’s Arena Of Liberty(GOAL) all from the choir.
He invited the marriage counseling team and the Elders of the Church who prayed for the couple and asked God to bless their marriage.
The wedding solemnization is billed for December.
First timers were duly welcomed and prayed for.
The Prophet warned anyone involved in stealing in the church to return same or face God’s anger.
God’s own general will begin his Evangelical Mission in Boki local government area from August 23-26, 2025.
