President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will on October 14 inaugurate the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) ahead of the 2027 general elections, with former Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, Dr Betta Edu and other party chieftains expected to play key roles in the campaign structure.
The inauguration is scheduled to take place at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Abdulaziz Yari, disclosed this on Friday after meeting with the President at the Presidential Villa, where he briefed State House correspondents on preparations for the forthcoming campaign.
Yari said President Tinubu had approved the proposed campaign timetable, with the campaign scheduled to commence with a rally in Kaduna on October 24 before moving to Porhacourt in Rivers State and Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
Ahead of the formal inauguration, Sen Oluremi Tinubu CON First Lady working with the Director of Women Mobilisation of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Dr Betta Edu, and other members of the directorate has already commenced grassroots women mobilisation across the country as part of efforts to build support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Edu and the team have set a target of mobilising 40 million women’s votes for the Tinubu-Shettima ticket through a nationwide engagement strategy spanning 176,846 communities and polling-unit structures across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The initiative is designed to strengthen the party’s engagement with women at the grassroots through community outreach, mobilisation networks, and communication of the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0.
The October 14 inauguration is expected to formalise the campaign council’s operations, bringing together party leaders and stakeholders to coordinate activities ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The inauguration precede the planned October 24 rally in Kaduna, which is expected to mark the beginning of the President’s nationwide re-election campaign.
