As part of activities to mark its one year anniversary, the Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ), Cross River State Council,has successfully organized a city walk/fitness exercise for her members.
Speaking at the Ernest Etim Bassey Press centre at the flag off of the exercise, Chairman of the union, Comrade Nsa Gill said the exercise was to enhance fitness and to put members in the right frame of mind as they carry out their duties.
Nsa commended members for coming out enmasse to participate in the exercise.
Also speaking the representative of the Chief of Staff to the governor Mr. Emmanuel Ironbar commended journalists for the good they are doing in the state and pledged his continued support to them as the need arises.
The COS who was represented by one of the governor’s media aide Alhaji Rasheed Olariwaju noted that journalists work round the clock in serving the interest of the society and sometimes forgot to exercise themselves.
According to him, “regular exercising is vital for healthy and functional body. The road walk which took them round major streets of Calabar also featured erobics and games.
Veterans and other stakeholder expressed happiness with the Comrade Gill Nsa led Exco, noting that the event was a huge success.
