The Congress to elect new leadership for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River State has now, been fixed now for August 8th, 2020.
It would be recalled that the Congress had earlier been scheduled for April, 2020, but was postponed indefinitely to give was for the outgoing leadership headed by Ntufam Edim Inok to go.
Thought the outgoing leadership had been given the nod to continue for an extra period of three (3) months, though, on an interim capacity.
It would be recalled that the three (3) months interim period would elapse on August 4th and the congress itself, in a fourth day’s time being 8th of August,2020.
However, it is not yet clear who amongst the warring factions would have their way during the Congress.
Already, there are two factions in PDP Cross River state. Chapter One side is sponsored by the State Governor, Sen. Benedict Ayade while the other are from National Assembly members.
As at the time of filing this report, it is only 20 days before the Congress and the picture will become clearer as the cloak thicks.
