The Chairman of Bakassi Local Government Area, Hon Chief Iyadim Amboni Iyadim, has inaugurated a ten man management Committee to oversee daily operations at Ikang Ultramodern Motor Park with a nine point terms of reference.
Members of the committee are Chief Emmanuel Tete William JP- Chairman, Augustine Edet Okon – Vice Chairman, Bassey Cobham, Randy Asuquo Ene and Ekpenyong Adim (Winsor)
Others are Isaac Ibok Eyo, Efffiong Etim Okon ( Diasio), Anthony Bassey Efffiong, Hon William Edet Okon and Ayong Aqua Edem ( Secretary).
According to the terms of reference, the committee is expected to take traffic count of all vehicles at the point of entry and exit as well as enforce the use of the facility by all motorists and fix a fine for all defaulters.
The Chairman and the vice Chairman of the committee shall work on a full time basis while other members shall operate on weekly basis as agreed by them.
Iyadim emphasized that, ” The Committee shall carry out a test run of the park facility for 30 working days from December 10, 2021 to ascertain the potential at peak and off peak period” , adding that, ” it shall ensure proper management and maintenance within the park and on no account shall any member or members allow any persons to erect any temporary structure within the park without the express permission or approval of the Chairman of Council”
They are expected to work with sister parks outside Bakassi and create a direct travel link to the people as well as work the Legal Adviser of the Council and come out with a suitable and harmonized agreement between the Council, National Union of Road Transport Workers NURTW and other stakeholders in Bakassi
He further advised that they ensure there is harmonious working relationship amongst members as any infighting , disunity, factions shall lead to the dissolution of the committee, stressing that , ” the Committee shall propose to council innovative ideas that will help improve quality service delivery to the good people of Bakassi Local Government Area”
Responding on behalf of members of the Ikang Ultramodern Motor Park Management Committee, its 6Chairman, Chief Emmanuel Tete William JP, thanked the Chairman of Bakassi Local Government Area Hon C hief Iyadim Amboni Iyadim, for finding worthy to serve the people on behalf of the Council and assured the council of total commitment in the course of performing their duties to ensure success
