The Synod Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Duke Town Cathedral, Calabar, Rt. Rev. Akim Mbeh, has warned politicians against believing that their hard work gave them success in their different endeavors.
Rather, he said, “you should always learn to emulate the grateful leper who was healed with nine others by the Lord Jesus and came back to appreciate his source of healing”.
He stated this while preaching the sermon at the Thanksgiving service/Dedication of his child by Sen. Asuquo Ekpenyong representing Cross River Southern Senatorial District in the Red Chambers.
Rev. Mbeh said, “it is always joyful to say thank you Lord at the end of every success recorded in life no matter the class you belong in the society”.
“By so doing, the Creator and the Almighty God will continue to bless you in all your endeavors, he noted “.
He, therefore lauded the spirit of Sen. Ekpenyong and family for coming to say thank you Lord as well as coming to dedicate their little son, Abasianam Asuquo Ekpenyong to God.
The occasion was attended by Cross River state governor, Sen. Bassey Edet Otu, Senate President, Sen. Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, and the Deputy governor of Cross River State, Rt. Hon. Peter Ode.
The twin event which held at the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Duke Town Cathedral, Calabar, attracted over 20 Senators and their beloved wives.
The wife of the Senate President, Mrs Unoma Akpabio, Chief of Staff to the governor, Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar, Immediate Past Deputy governor of the state, Prof. Ivara Esu, his dear wife, Mrs Omotunde Ivara Esu, State Chairman of the All Progressives’ Congress, Barr. Alphonsus Eba also witnessed the carnival-like and colourful event.
Others include serving and former National Assembly members, State House of Assembly members, Federal and state appointees, traditional, religious and political leaders, business tycoons as well as captains of industries and party faithfuls, supporters among others.
