The leadership of Cross River State Non Indigenous women group has paid a courtesy visit to the Special Adviser to the governor on Non Indigenes Affairs, Mazi Okey Maduekwe and pledged their unalloyed support to Senator Bassey Otu’s led administration in the state.
The group led by the leader Mrs. Ezaegu Maria Nnenna (Ada-Igbo) also used the opportunity to congratulate him for a well deserved appointment and thanked His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu for the right choice of “a square peg for the square hole”.
They prayed God to strengthen, guide and direct the administration as well as the Special Adviser in the tasks ahead.
However, the group called on the governor not to forget the importance of women in the society and requested to be carried along in government lineup empowerment and other programmes in the state.
In his remarks, the Special Adviser welcomed and appreciated them for their efforts and support for the party during the last elections.
He, however, charged the group to continue to unite and galvanize support for the ‘People’s First’ government and promised them of accessing Season of Sweetness soonest.
Maduekwe charged the group to always relate and co-exist harmoniously with the host communities and remain agent of hard work and good conduct as they carry out their businesses in the state.
Earlier, the women had felicitated His Excellency and the First lady for a landmark transformation of the state within one year and urged them not to relent in their efforts to totally turn around the state.
