As the Muslim all over the World celebrate Eid-El-Adha festival, I join millions of my beloved Muslim brothers and sisters in Cross River to wish them warmest greetings and heartfelt felicitations,
Eid-el-Adha — the Festival of Sacrifice — is a sacred reminder of the unshakable faith, obedience, and submission to the will of Allah (SWT) as exemplified by the noble Prophet Ibrahim (AS).
Therefore, “I urge you to sacrifice not only our possessions but also our ego, pride, and selfish interests — for the good of our neighbours, our communities, and our great nation.
It is also pertinent for us to reflect on the core virtues of compassion, humility, patience, and unity, and to let your lives echo the mercy and love that Allah bestows on all humanity.
Onbehalf of my office as Special Adviser to the Governor on Non-indigenes Affairs, I salute your steadfastness, your prayers for peace, and your unrelenting contributions to the growth of our dear state.
Therefore, it is my fervent prayers that this Eid may bring you and your families joy, abundance, spiritual upliftment, and renewed strength.
May Allah accept your prayers and sacrifices, Cross River State, and Nigeria with peace, prosperity, and purpose.
Eid Mubarak
Hon. Okey Maduekwe Special Adviser to the Governor on Non-indigenes Affairs
