Cross River State Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, has felicitated the Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem, on the occasion of his 47th birthday, describing him as an exceptional parliamentarian, visionary leader, and steadfast patriot whose contributions have continued to enrich the state’s democratic journey and legislative development.
In a goodwill message issued by his Chief Press Secretary and Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Linus Obogo, Governor Otu extolled Ayambem’s exemplary leadership of the Ninth Cross River State House of Assembly, noting that his calm disposition, political maturity, and commitment to consensus-building have strengthened the cordial relationship between the Executive and the Legislature, thereby deepening democratic governance in the state.
The Governor said the Speaker’s tenure has been distinguished by legislative excellence, uncommon wisdom, and a dedication to the collective aspirations of the people of Cross River State, adding that his ability to place public interest above personal considerations has earned him widespread admiration and respect.
“As you celebrate your 47th birthday, I heartily rejoice with you and salute your remarkable journey of service, sacrifice and purposeful leadership. Your stewardship of the Cross River State House of Assembly has remained a shining testament to the ideals of responsible leadership, legislative diligence and patriotic commitment,” Governor Otu stated.
He further remarked: “Your calm temperament, legislative depth and uncommon ability to inspire confidence while fostering unity have significantly enhanced the quality of governance in our dear state. You have demonstrated that true leadership is measured not by the exercise of power, but by the capacity to build bridges, nurture institutions and place the welfare of the people above every other consideration.”
Governor Otu observed that the Speaker’s enduring commitment to democratic values has contributed immensely to the successful implementation of his administration’s People First agenda, stressing that the synergy between both arms of government has accelerated the delivery of impactful policies and programmes for the benefit of Cross Riverians.
The Governor prayed that Almighty God would continue to preserve Ayambem in good health, grant him greater wisdom, renewed strength and abundant grace to continue serving the state with distinction.
“As you mark this memorable milestone, may the Almighty crown your years with enduring peace, robust health, greater accomplishments and divine favour. May your path continue to shine ever brighter as you render even greater service to our beloved state and humanity,” he added.
Governor Otu joined the Speaker’s family, friends, political associates, members of the Cross River State House of Assembly, and the people of the state in celebrating the milestone, expressing confidence that Rt.
