The Cross River Special Advisers’ forum has given kudos to governor Bassey Otu’s developmental strides and pledged their support for his second tenure.
They applauded his leadership style and reformative policies currently ongoing in the state.
The forum made the declaration during a press conference at the Ernest Etim Bassey Press Center in Calabar.
Speaking, the chairman of the forum, Barr. Ekpeyong Akiba, said that the forum represents the three Senatorial Districts, praised the developmental achievement of governor Otu in the areas of roads, education, infrastructure, health, electrification and security.
He emphasises that within the space of one year and nine months, the governor had done exceedingly well.
According to him, “there is no vacancy at the Government House come 2027 and unanimously passed a vote of confidence on His Excellency Sen Bassey Edet Otu’s administration.
“He described their stance for the governor as timely and democratic.”
Akiba said the endless leadership of Governor Otu of being influential at the center and also the Presidency has helped in attracting development to the state.
Akiba who doubles as Special Adviser to the governor on Special Duties, remarked that great achievement of His Excellency is a thing of tradition and heritage, dating back to family, school, community, house of representative as well as a Senator, his continuation to the Southern District is on matched.
He extolled Otu’s project and achievements on transportation, infrastructure, a complete road overhaul, improving the living condition of citizens and adding value to the environment.
According to him, “some rehabilitated roads include, Jebs, Abitu, New airport, Chamely, palm Street extension while others have been awarded to competent contracting firm”.
The Bakassi Deep Seaport and the railway projects are also at advanced stages, adding “that issues on electricity, peace and security, education, official infrastructure, works and healthcare have been addressed.
The Special Adviser on asset management and recovery, Barr. Gilbert Agbor, lauded gov Otu’s intervention work on infrastructure, agriculture, electricification, particularly at the Central Senatorial Districts and highlighted major roads in Ikom, Ugep, Abi and Obubra local government areas of the state.
The revival of Shanghai farms and Starch processing factory, has created jobs for the teeming youths as well as boost agriculture in the state.
Agbor assured Cross Riverians that the governor remained committed to his promises.
Also, speaking the Special Adviser on Event Management, Mr. Effiong Ekpeyong described governor Otu’s leadership as unparallel as the transformation agenda has rekindled confidence, peace, hope and security for Cross Riverians.
He said, ” for today, there are no more potholes on the road, a feet that mechanics complained that they don’t have customers again. While traffic lights are functional on key roads.
The forum commended the contribution of the governor’s wife and urged the media to be objective in their reportage.
